Just before August ends, fresh summer cinema arrives! Tony, Teenage Sex and Death at Camp Miasma, Michael Mann’s Manhunter, Remake, and more fresh films are now showing in our historic theatres. Oh, and in case you thought you were missing out, Spiderman: Brand New Day and The Odyssey are still going strong!

Kick off our 70mm series with 2001: A Space Odyssey screening 8/28 at 7 PM. We wouldn’t start September at the cinema off without a bang… join us for Akira 4K Remaster starting 9/4. Join us 9/10 at 6:30 PM for a one night only screening of The African Desperate presented in partnership with Sculpture Milwaukee and the Bronzeville Center for the Arts.

One of the best things about being Milwaukee Film is we can show film on film. ESPECIALLY 70mm. We’re the only cinema in the city (and 1 of less than 20 in the country!) that can do it year-round, and this August we’re doing it big time. Come watch a week’s worth of masterpieces on 70mm in the most beautiful theatre in the world, exhibited with care by our dedicated projectionist team.

We’d like to enter into evidence this series of four films presented in partnership with experts from Foley & Lardner, wherein lawyers—and the law—are the star of the show. Each of these films has been accused of being “excellent” and “captivating”; previous witness testimony describes some of them as “among the best films of all time.” Ultimately, audiences of the jury, the decision is yours to make.

Documentary films open conversations and expand minds. Mark your calendar for September 24-27 in 2026 and plan to join us for four days of films and discussions that will fill your heart and mind with timely, relevant, and true stories.
